Loved this movie.

That’s a tough question

If I’d been in prison for forty years, for whatever reason, I guess I wouldn’t care too much if I was paroled or not.

In prison you’d have friends, food, and a roof over your head. What would you have upon your release…not much. They’d supply you with housing, maybe find you a job and that’s pretty much all.

I remember a scene in the movie when one of Red's friends did get paroled and ended up committing suicide.

Please don’t think I am condoning this cause of action, but I don’t blame him. He had nothing, the guys he served his time with in prison were his friends, his family. If you ask me he would have been better off staying with them, behind bars.

Sometimes in life when you really want a certain thing to happen and you wait, and wait, and wait, you eventually give up caring about it. I think that’s what happened to Red, he stopping caring about getting parole.

And then he got it.
