Int - Emilenne’s bedroom - Night Time

Camera withdraws and swivels towards bed

Emilenne (sixteen) asleep, sheets twisted around her torso, eyelids fluttering. She rolls onto her side and whimpers. (In her dream she hears a distorted cry, followed by a whooshing sound)

Emilenne, gasps, sits up, panting, her eyes wide.
She swings her legs out of bed, walks to the open window and stares out. The curtains continue to blow.

Int - Kitchen, two elderly people, a man and woman at breakfast table, their dinner plates dotted with scrambled eggs crumbs. Man reading local news paper. Woman halfway through crossword. Both sipping coffee.


The phone on bench rings. Old woman stands, answers it.
She talks to the caller in a quiet voice.

Close up of door leading to downstairs hallway- Emilenne enters. She wears tight blue jeans and red t-shirt. Her hair is messy, her face pale, she has dark circles under her eyes.

Angle - Old Man - Morning Emilenne

Emilenne - focuses on her grandmother without responding.

Old Man - Shakes head. Morning Emilenne.

Emilenne - Sits on chair - Who is Grandma talking to?

Old man - Shrugs

Emilenne - Face dissolves. She starts crying

Old Women - Replaces the landline receiver and turns towards Emilenne. She rests her hand on her shoulder.
A girl in your school year, Michelle Gibbons, is dead.

Emilenne - Wipes snotty nose on arm.
Yes, in my nightmare, a man lured her into his truck, then drove to the woods and chopped off her head.

Old man and old women look at each other.

Emilenne - He used a axe

Old Woman - Oh Emilenne

Emilenne - Picks a fingernail - Michelle is the first. There will be more. That’s what the man said. He said, I’m next.
